Hello!I'm a graduate from East Tennessee State with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in English. Since 2020, I've worked as a freelance photographer. Using my proficiency in Adobe software, I worked as a Content Lead for JPS Media, where I was responsible for recruiting potential clients, and increasing customer volume with social media branding. I balance creativity with drive as I manage productivity with passion as a photographer. I have traveled across the country and witnessed Americans across diverse backgrounds. Each region offers a different history, climate, and industrial backbone, forming the cultural experience that influences people's individuality. After completing 15+ interviews of Americans from all walks of life, I witnessed how powerful these perspectives are in shaping the America we live in.
A Modern Odyssey
Post Covid 2020-2021
Here's the Scene, just in case 2020 passed you by like a spring wind, Covid-19 outbreak hits the United States March 2020, Mania erupts, dividing America into factions both declaring they are the way forward. I now emerge as a 22 yrs. old young man, finishing up my Biology Degree in University. An idea worms its way into my mind, "what if I just drove across America, and see it for myself?" So, I saved, planned, and prepared myself for my Modern Odyssey.
My plan to see the United States was not "travelocity" certified. Consisting of general course to drive to North Dekota then to Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington, California, Neveda, Utah and lastly to Colorado all in just over a months' time. Even my first stop on my journey presented many dangers unaccounted for, Bugs and Humidity. With many experiences yet to be gained, my so-called plan was half baked. With only destinations, and determination, I was hopping place to place with only a Honda accord to call home for the next 33 days.
Luckily, I had my friend Jase for 6 days who showed me the ropes of how to manage crazed ideas of traveling alone throughout the States. With a mindset of marbled stone, sturdy was the course. No interstates, no highways, no hotels, I planned a route just like Odysseus in his Odyssey. Along the way I visited many wonderful feats of nature however, I never forgot the valuable insights from anyone share information to me. It was a gift to speak to individuals. They were not forgotten, for each landmark and city, I visited along my journey, I kept in mind their advice and nomad trade secrets.A trail was presented before me, requesting my attention, and empathy to commit to memory. From this experience, my passion for photography only grew. How a Single camera was able to capture such a fleeting moment in my life. Photography is more than an image- it is time held still, a whisper of the past. It sees what eyes often miss in a world that moves to fast. Photography is the pause that allows us to catch our breath where we can remember and feel the emotions of the moment again. It keeps what we love from fading, it tells our stories when words fall short and makes the ordinary eternal.
